Who will be Chief Judges this year? | |

All Chief Judges for the 2008 Georgia Lineman’s Rodeo will be announced on Friday, May 2, 2008. | |

Can the handle on a hard cover contact the cover up on another phase? | |

Not for an extended period of time. Brush contact would not be a violation.. | |

Will any of the events at the 2008 rodeo have armor rods installed? | |

No, there will be no armor rods on any events for Apprentices or teams.. | |

On Team event #1, 12 KV Insulator change. Do all three phase’s and insulators have to be covered? | |

Yes, All three phases will have to be covered on each side of the pole. Insulators will also have to be covered on all three phases to include the one that you will be working on.. | |

On insulator change out for apprentice can wire be covered and laid on metal cross arm? | |
A |
The wire can be laid upon the arm but the line hose will have to be locked together and their will have to be another layer of cover up on the arm, i.e. a blanket etc.. | |

On Team Event #2, three phase insulator change. Can the first man start untying the wire while the second man is climbing up? | |

No, No work can be done while the second man is not safetied off. | |

In the directions the 3rd bullet states the bag cannot be loaded before time starts. Farther down statement #1 states time will start at the judges signal when the climbers first hit the pole. Is this a misprint? | |

This is a mistake. The time for this apprentice event will start at the judge's signal. The apprentice will then load his bag, tool up etc..(see revised information packet) | |

In the obstacle course will the brace be attached to the pole with a lag bolt or machine bolt? If a machine bolt, what size? | |

On the obstacle course the braces will be attached to the pole with a 5/8 inch machine bolt with the nut on the brace side. | |

My company has recently acquired some vintage (wooden) A.B. Chance wire tongs and tie sticks specifically for the 12kV event. The finish is intact, and the sticks are clean and in very good condition. Will the officials accept these tools as “suitable” for this event? | |

Chance 1490 - 2" with 17"s of fiberglass is the number the Event Committee gave me; although, I just attempted to find on the internet and could not. The closest one was a Hubbell/Chance 18" - 2" - 1SBH18V1 (Single-Phase Vertical Pin Standoff Bracket) David or Tony will you confirm this number. | |

General Judging Guidelines Correct, there is No change.(The phase to be worked must be covered before beginning work) As far as inside/outside . . . it must be covered above the linemans head as he changes the insulator. | |
